The Sigma 150-600mm F5-6.3 DG DN OS | Sports offers outstanding optical performance throughout its zoom range and at all apertures, yielding professional quality results. Based on the latest optical design technology, its lens construction of 25 elements in 15 groups includes a range of special types of high-performance glass that ensures thorough control of different types of aberrations. This helps give images the resolution and clearest detail—not only at the tele end around 600mm, which is critical for an ultra-telephoto zoom, but also throughout its entire zoom range—with no compromise. The lens was designed with image quality in the out-of-focus areas in mind as well, with attractive compression and beautiful bokeh for creating eye-catching images that can only be achieved with a long focal length. Through improvements to the optical and mechanical designs as well as extensive simulated testing, the lens has achieved high resistance to ghosting and flare. This helps ensure sharp and high-contrast images even in strong sunlight or in backlit conditions. At the wide end of 150mm, the lens has an impressive minimum focusing distance of 58cm. On the L-Mount, the use of two dedicated teleconverters will allow you to shoot with AF up to 1200mm. With these features, this new ultra-telephoto lens is the perfect tool for tackling a broad range of shooting situations, giving you a greater freedom in your choice of composition.

Fast, high-precision AF and impressive functionality

The 150-600mm F5-6.3 DG DN OS | Sports comes with the pro-level functionality that defines the Sigma Sports line lens, which is designed for capturing fast-action subjects. With an AF actuator controlled by a stepping motor, the lens combines fast and quiet autofocus with excellent tracking of moving objects. Furthermore, a (*)high-precision magnetic sensor enables highly accurate positioning for fast and high-precision AF. This is particularly impressive on an ultra-telephoto lens where the focus lens has to move a significant distance. The OS function delivers effective image stabilization that offers an advantage of approximately 4 stops*1, which is ideal for hand-held shooting at slower shutter speeds. It is possible to change the OS settings using the OS switch and Custom Mode switch to best suit the shooting situation. The lens has a Focus Limiter switch offering three-zone AF modification, which helps to speed up AF performance, and on the L-Mount it is possible to set a custom focusing limit*2 via the Sigma USB DOCK UD-11. The lens also has three AFL buttons to which you can assign various functions on the camera side depending on the model of camera used. This ensures that key settings are able to be customized to suit your shooting style and be accessed easily so that you can adapt quickly to changing conditions. AFL buttons Various functions can be assigned to three AFL buttons on the camera side depending on the model of camera used. 2 Zoom Torque switch The newly developed switch lets you change the zoom ring torque (resistance) and lock it at the wide end. L (Lock): The zoom ring fixed at the wide end. T (Tight): The zoom ring torque set on the higher side and kept at a focal length. This prevents the lens from extending or retracting due to its own weight when pointed either upward or downward. S (Smooth): The zoom ring torque set to low allows the lens to zoom in and out smoothly, suitable for straight zoom. 3 Focus Mode switch 4 Focus Limiter switch 5 OS switch The OS switch toggles between two OS settings: Mode 1 for general photography and Mode 2 for motor sports and other applications requiring panning. 6 Custom Mode switch Switch the OS effect. ■Default setting: for Sony E-Mount OFF: Standard The OS effect is well-balanced and suitable for a wide variety of scenes. C1: Dynamic View Mode This mode offers a recognizable OS effect to the image in the viewfinder. This helps to ensure the composition of images quickly. Outstanding build quality optimized for ultra-telephoto photography

The 150-600mm F5-6.3 DG DN OS | Sports combines the build quality that upholds the Sigma Sports line standards with excellent operability, taking into account different shooting environments and modes of operation expected with an ultra-telephoto lens. A dust and splash resistant structure*1 that stops water drops or dust from getting into the lens, combined with a water and oil repellent coating applied to the front element, gives you a peace of mind even in a harsh shooting environment. The lens features a Dual Action Zoom, which supports both straight zoom and ring zoom, allowing you to change the angle of view in a quick and intuitive way. In addition, there is also a newly incorporated Zoom Torque switch, with which you can change the resistance of the zoom ring and lock it at the wide end, ensuring ease of zoom operation as well as elimination of zoom creep. On the lens body there is a magnesium tripod socket attachable to an Arca Swiss type clamp. The foot is removable and may be replaced with an optional lens foot (replaceable lens foot type) or mounted on a monopod. The lens body uses parts made of aluminum and TSC (Thermally Stable Composite), where they are most suitable. TSC is a type of polycarbonate with a thermal expansion rate similar to that of aluminum, ensuring the lens behaves consistently at different temperatures. By taking advantage of its design intended exclusively for mirrorless camera systems, the lens is both robust—an attribute essential for the Sports line of lensesーand compact and lightweight. Compared to the Sigma 150-600mm F5-6.3 DG OS HSM | Sports, which is also a Sports line lens but designed for SLR cameras, the new lens is lighter by 760g and shorter by 26.6mm*2. *1 Although this construction allows the lens to be used in light rain, it is not the same as being waterproof. *2 The 150-600mm F5-6.3 DG DN OS | Sports for L-Mount, compared to the 150-600mm F5-6.3 DG OS HSM | Sports for Sigma SA-mount.

Dust and Splash Resistant Structure*

This lens features a highly effective dust and splash resistant structure with special sealing at the mount connection, manual focus ring, zoom ring, and cover connection, allowing you to work in all types of weather. * Although this construction allows the lens to be used in light rain, it is not the same as being waterproof.

Tripod socket

The tripod socket with 90° click stops, made with a magnesium alloy that is both lightweight and tough, is incorporated to ensure easier changes of shooting position from vertical to horizontal and vice versa. It can be attached directly to an Arca Swiss type clamp.

The MTF (Modulation Transfer Function) is one of the measurements for evaluating a lens' performance, and it shows how faithfully the contrast of the subject can be reproduced on the image plane. The horizontal axis shows the image height (distance from the center of the image in mm) and the vertical axis shows the contrast value (maximum value is 1). The closer the 10 line pairs/mm curve is to 1, the higher the contrast and clarity of the lens is, and similarly, the closer the 30 line pairs/mm curve is to 1, the better the resolution and sharpness of the lens is. *The MTF chart depicts the result at the wide-open aperture. *For mirrorless lenses that support distortion correction, the horizontal axis shows the image height equivalent to when an L-Mount lens is attached to a Sigma L-Mount camera with distortion correction applied. OS (Optical Stabilizer) function

Sigma's OS (Optical Stabilizer) function uses sensors inside the lens to detect any motion, then moves specific lens elements in order to effectively minimize blur caused by such movement.

OS2

OS2 is the newly developed optical stabilizer algorithm. Compared to the previous algorithm used by Sigma lenses, OS2 improves the effect of optical stabilization significantly.

Inner focus system

To increase stability, this lens configuration uses movable internal lens elements that adjust focus without changing the length of the lens barrel.

Compatible with Lens Aberration Correction

Matching the optical characteristics of the lens, this function performs in-camera corrections of peripheral illumination, chromatic aberrations, distortion, and more, to further enhance image quality. *Function available on supported cameras only. Available corrections or auto correction functionality may vary depending on the camera model. *On cameras where lens aberration correction is controlled with 'ON' or 'OFF' in the camera menu, please set all aberration correction functions to 'ON' (AUTO).
